Through competitions and social events, we aim to provide a lifelong social network for those involved in an often remote and secluded industry. We provide tours, talks and training to help cultivate confidence and broaden the minds and horizons of our members in order to mould upstanding young entrants into this vital community. |
Gelligaer YFC

Training for competitions will occur on other days of the week like a Thursday and Sunday. Going into our 85th year, Gelligaer are well established forming in 1940, being one of the oldest clubs in the county. We are a very sociable club, ranging from activities on a Monday night, farm tours and even pub crawls and dinner dances. We've got something to suit everyone weather your 10 or 28! Competing is in the heart of every YFC club and ours is no exception! From flower arranging to stock judging, cooking to performing arts, there is something for everyone to showcase your talents! Gower YFC

Monday evenings 7:30pm Established in 1997 Gower is one of the youngest clubs in Glamorgan, before then Gower use to be known as two separate clubs, Pennard YFC and Three Crosses YFC. In 1997 the two clubs merged into one to form the incredible Gower YFC. We are a Fun and friendly club, welcoming all to join us. As we always promote "You Don't Have To Be A Farmer To Be In Young Farmers", we have got a wide variety of members many from farming backgrounds and some that might not have stepped foot on a farm before we cater for all those that wish to join our fantastic club. Our members put their all into everything and we couldn't be prouder of all the achievements that they have all achieved over the years, from competing up in County Level, representing Glamorgan at Wales and National Level in a vast variety in competitions. We have had members compete in Malvern Representing Glamorgan in Cooking and Floral, going up to Royal Welsh Show competing in many competitions and as a club we all represented Glamorgan in Wales Drama Final. Llantrisant YFC

We offer a diverse and educational experience, with plenty of support from current and former members, especially for those new to competing or looking to sharpen their skills. Our club has seen great success in past competitions such as stock judging, public speaking, entertainments, amongst others. Many of our members have previously represented the County at major events, including the English Winter Fair and the Royal Welsh Show. With a varied calendar of activities driven by our members' interests there is something for everyone! Our evenings often end with a social gathering at the pub, fostering strong friendships along the way! |

Our members range from age 10 to 28, across a whole range of backgrounds, you really don’t have to be a farmer to be a young farmer.
